Our Office Functions and Responsibilities

The circuit clerk is the clerk of the circuit court and juvenile court.  As ex-officio county recorder, the circuit clerk is also responsible for recording deeds, mortgages, liens, and instruments which involve property within the county.  The administrative duties of the circuit clerk are to maintain a record of all proceedings of the circuit courts to enter docket number and name of the defendant and to prepare the dockets for these courts. The circuit clerk prepares summons, warrants, orders, judgments, and injunctions authorized by the circuit court for delivery by the county sheriff. The circuit clerk also maintains a file of all cases pending in either court, as well as a record of all past court cases and their disposition.

No. All juvenile records are confidential.

The Circuit Clerk’s Office only handles judicial foreclosures or sales ordered by the court, and you can check with our office regarding these. All non-judicial foreclosure sales are posted on the first floor in a glass case.

No. We do NOT provide any legal forms for divorces, name change, deed, mortgages, etc. You may contact an attorney or Title Company to prepare a deed for you. Divorce, name changes, and other documents may be found at https://arlawhelp.org.

Notary information is filed in the Recorder’s Office. For more information on becoming a Notary Public, see the Arkansas Secretary of State web site.

Marriage licenses are located at the County Clerk’s Office, 870-246-4491.

Birth certificates are kept at the Bureau of Vital Records in Little Rock. For births outside Arkansas, contact the government offices of the state of birth.
