The cost for a marriage license is $60.00.

Both parties must be present.

If both parties are twenty one (21) years of age are older, they will need to bring a valid driver’s license, state issued identification, military identification or passport.

If the parties are between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty (20), a birth certificate is required.

If the parties are under eighteen (18), please contact the Clerk’s office for this information.

Marriage licenses are valid for sixty (60) days from the date they are issued.

Licenses can be purchased anywhere within the state, so long as the ceremony is performed within the state. The officiant must have his/her credentials recorded in the State of Arkansas to perform a wedding.

Once you are married, you have seven (7) working days to return your marriage license and have it recorded.

Brides, once you have your license recorded, you will need to get a certified copy of your marriage license for $6.00 or take your original to a social security office to have your name changed on your card. To get an application for this, go to https://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber.

Marriage licenses for genealogy are available from 1821 to present.
